Opernhaus für alle

Important Notice: "Opernhaus für alle"

Adjusted Starting Times Due to High Temperatures

Due to the forecast summer heat this coming weekend, the Zurich Opera House is postponing the starting times of several "Opernhaus für alle" events on Sechseläutenplatz. The updated times can be found in the calendar or further down on this page.

From 26 until 28 June 2026

For the first time, the Zurich Opera House and Zurich Insurance present the popular open-air format "Opernhaus für alle" over three consecutive days. Over an entire weekend in June, audiences can enjoy live broadcasts of an opera and a ballet performance, as well as an open-air concert with the Orchestra of the Zurich Opera House at Sechseläutenplatz, with free admission.

The programme includes a live broadcast of Cathy Marston’s "Romeo und Julia" on Friday, Wagner’s "Tannhäuser" on Saturday, and, for the first time, a major open-air concert on Sunday featuring Benjamin Bernheim and the Orchestra of the Zurich Opera House under the direction of Gianandrea Noseda, as well as a performance by the newly founded Children’s Opera Orchestra.

Chairs will once again be available for purchase on site. In addition, a varied selection of food and drinks invites visitors to relax and enjoy the occasion.

It is hot outside...

..And it's getting even hotter. Temperatures are continuing to rise, and to help you enjoy the "Opernhaus für alle" weekend as comfortably as possible, the ballet performance on Friday evening and the concerts on Sunday evening will begin slightly later than originally scheduled. To minimise the time spent in the heat, there will be no pre-performance programmes, allowing you to arrive shortly before the events begin. Additional drinking water stations will be available on Sechseläutenplatz, and the water feature will remain in operation. Please remember to bring plenty of water, sun protection and a hat. If you wish, bring a large towel, which you can wet on site to help keep cool. Camping chairs will also be available for purchase on site. A wide selection of food and drinks will be available throughout the weekend. We look forward to welcoming you this weekend.

Zurich City Triathlon

During "Opernhaus für alle" from 27 until 28 June 2026, the Zurich City Triathlon will also take place. As a result, significant traffic disruptions are expected, particularly on Sunday. The easiest way to reach the Zurich Opera House and Sechseläutenplatz is via Stadelhofen Station. You can find further information here.
