Gianandrea Noseda

Gianandrea Noseda has been General Music Director of the Zurich Opera House since the 2021/22 season. In addition, he is Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, he became Music Director of the newly founded Tsinandali Festival and the Georgian Pan-Caucasian Youth Orchestra. From 2007 to 2018, Noseda served as General Music Director of the Teatro Regio di Torino, where he artistically reshaped the opera house during his tenure. Noseda has conducted the world’s leading orchestras (Berlin Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, Concertgebouw Orchestra, Vienna Philharmonic) as well as at the most prestigious opera houses (La Scala, Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House) and festivals (BBC Proms, Edinburgh, Salzburg, and Verbier). He has also held leading positions with the BBC Philharmonic (Chief Conductor), the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (Principal Guest Conductor), the Mariinsky Theatre (Principal Guest Conductor), and the Stresa Festival (Artistic Director). His discography comprises more than 80 CDs, with a special focus on the "Musica Italiana" project, which features neglected 20th-century Italian repertoire. Born in Milan, Noseda is a Commendatore al Merito della Repubblica Italiana and received the Order of Merit of the City of Milan in 2024. In 2015, he was named "Musical America’s Conductor of the Year," was awarded "Conductor of the Year" at the 2016 International Opera Awards, and received the Puccini Prize in 2023. In the same year, the Oper! Awards honored Noseda as "Best Conductor," particularly recognizing his interpretations of the first two "Ring" operas at the Zurich Opera House.

Adele Thomas

Adele Thomas stammt aus Wales. Sie ist ist Opern- und Theaterregisseurin und übernimmt 2025 gemeinsam mit Sarah Crabtree als Joint General Director und CEO die Leitung der Welsh National Opera. Adele Thomas studierte an der Cambridge University Regie, war Stipendiatin des renommierten RTYDS Programms für Regisseur:innen und ist Absolventin des National Theatre Studio Kurses für junge Regisseur:innen. Ihr Debüt als Opernregisseurin gab sie mit Così fan tutte an der Northern Ireland Opera in Belfast. Daraufhin inszenierte sie für das Royal Opera House London Händels Berenice am Linbury Theatre; diese Inszenierung wurde für einen Olivier Award als beste Opernproduktion nominiert. Zuletzt inszenierte sie u. a. Vivaldis Bajazet am Royal Opera House London und der Irish National Opera (ebenfalls mit einem Olivier Award als beste Opernproduktion nominiert), In the Realms of Sorrow für das London Handel Festival, Semele beim Glyndebourne Festival sowie Rigoletto an der Welsh National Opera. Am Opernhaus Zürich inszenierte sie 2021 Verdis Il trovatore (Koproduktion mit dem Royal Opera House London). Als Schauspielregisseurin inszenierte sie u. a. Oresteia am Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London, Thomas Tallis und The Knight of the Burning Pestle am Sam Wanamaker Playhouse des Globes, Macbeth für die Bristol Tobacco Factory und The Weir für das English Touring Theatre.

Franck Evin

Franck Evin, born in Nantes, moved to Paris at the age of 19 to study piano. At night he accompanied singers at the Café-Théâtre Le Connétable and also began to take an interest in lighting. He eventually decided to combine music and technology. Thanks to a scholarship from the French Ministry of Culture, he became assistant to the head of lighting at the Opéra de Lyon in 1983. There he worked with Ken Russell and Robert Wilson, among others. In 1986 he began working as an independent lighting designer at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus and obtained his master’s certificate in lighting in 1993. During this time he had a close collaboration with Werner Schröter and the conductor Eberhard Kloke. This was followed by productions in Nantes, Strasbourg, Paris, Lyon, Vienna, Bonn, Brussels and Los Angeles, among other places. From 1995 to 2012 he was Artistic Director of the lighting department at the Komische Oper Berlin, where he was responsible for all new productions. Important artistic partners during this period included Andreas Homoki, Barrie Kosky, Calixto Bieito and Hans Neuenfels. In 2006 Franck Evin was awarded the German Theatre Prize "Opus" in the category of lighting design. From 2012 to 2025 he was Artistic Director of the lighting department at the Zurich Opera House. In addition to his work in Zurich, he continued to work on international productions at opera houses in Oslo, Stockholm, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Munich and Graz, as well as at the Opéra Bastille, Teatro alla Scala, Teatro La Fenice, the Vlaamse Opera and at the Bayreuth Festival.

Tieni Burkhalter

Tieni Burkhalter studied Fine Arts at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), where he specialized in video and video installation. After his works were mainly shown in galleries and at experimental film festivals, he has been working for the stage since 2009. As a video producer, he is closely associated with the Zurich Opera House. His stage work has also taken him to theaters in Berlin, Hamburg, Paris, Moscow, Oslo, and Savonlinna. At the Zurich Opera House, he worked with Andreas Homoki ("Der fliegende Holländer", "Das Land des Lächelns", "Das Rheingold", "Siegfried" and "Die Walküre"), Evgeny Titov ("Lessons in Love and Violence" and "L’Orfeo"), Jan Philipp Gloger ("Die Csárdásfürstin" and "Le nozze di Figaro"), Adele Thomas ("Il trovatore"), Rainer Holzapfel ("Die Odyssee"), Nina Russi ("Coraline") and Kai Anne Schuhmacher ("Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer"). For Ballet Zurich, he produced videos for Christian Spuck ("Anna Karenina" and "Das Mädchen mit den Schwefelhölzern"), Marcos Morau ("Nachtträume"), Edward Clug ("Faust") and Douglas Lee ("A-Life"). He was also involved at the Savonlinna Opera Festival with Philipp Himmelmann for "Aida", in Berlin with Christian Spuck for "Madame Bovary", and has been collaborating for many years on Dmitri Tcherniakov’s productions: "Pelléas et Mélisande" and "Die Sache Makropulos" at the Zurich Opera House, "Senza Sangue/Herzog Blaubarts Burg", "Elektra" and "Salome" at the Hamburg State Opera, "La Fille de Neige" and "Les Troyens" at the Opéra National de Paris, and "Tristan und Isolde" at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin.

Klaas-Jan de Groot

Klaas-Jan de Groot is a Dutch conductor and choral director. Since the 2025/26 season, he has been Chorus Director of the Opernhaus Zürich. After studying in The Hague and Cardiff, he served from 2016 to 2022 as assistant to Chorus Director Ching-Lien Wu at the Dutch National Opera, where he prepared several productions and projects with the opera chorus. Since 2018, he has worked regularly with the Netherlands Radio Choir (Groot Omroepkoor). From 2018 to 2024, he served annually as assistant to Chorus Director Eberhard Friedrich at the Bayreuth Festival. He has conducted various concerts and performances with Opera Zuid as well as with the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century and the Essener Philharmoniker. From 2022 to 2025, he was Chorus Director of the Aalto-Theater in Essen. Since 2023, he has worked regularly with the NDR Vokalensemble in Hamburg. In 2024, he made his debut with the MDR-Rundfunkchor as well as with the Rundfunkchor Berlin. In recognition of his support for emerging talent, Klaas-Jan de Groot was awarded the prestigious Dutch Conducting Prize of the Anton Kersjes Fonds in 2021.

Fabio Dietsche

Fabio Dietsche studied dramaturgy at the Zurich University of the Arts as well as cross flute with Maria Goldschmidt in Zurich and with Karl-Heinz Schütz in Vienna. He gained his first experience as a dramaturge in 2012/13 with Xavier Zuber at Konzert Theater Bern, where he accompanied, among others, Matthias Rebstock’s production of "neither" (Beckett/Feldman) at the Berner Reithalle. Since 2013, he has been a dramaturge at the Zurich Opera House, where he completed his studies with the production dramaturgy of Puccini’s "La bohème." There, he has been involved, among others, in the world premieres of Stefan Wirth’s "Girl with a Pearl Earring" and Leonard Evers’ "Odyssee," the chamber opera "Jakob Lenz" by Wolfgang Rihm, and the Swiss premiere of Manfred Trojahn’s "Orest." He has worked with, among others, Robert Carsen, Tatjana Gürbaca, Rainer Holzapfel, Andreas Homoki, Ted Huffman, Mélanie Huber, Barrie Kosky, Hans Neuenfels, and Kai Anne Schuhmacher. He is currently studying cultural management on a part-time basis at the University of Zurich.

Stephen Costello

Stephen Costello is a native of Philadelphia and studied at the Academy of Vocal Arts in his hometown. In 2007, at just 26 years old, he made his debut at the season opening of the Metropolitan Opera. In 2009, he won the Richard Tucker Award. In 2010, he sang the role of Greenhorn in the world premiere of Jake Heggie’s opera Moby-Dick. Since then, he has appeared at major opera houses and festivals. He has performed roles such as Alfredo (La traviata) in Hamburg, at the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Vienna State Opera, the Bolshoi Theatre, the Arena di Verona, and the Munich Opera Festival; Fernand (La Favorite) at the Liceu Barcelona; Don José (Carmen) in Dallas; Rodolfo (La bohème) in Dresden, Hamburg, Madrid, and Los Angeles; Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) at the New National Theatre in Tokyo; Duca di Mantua (Rigoletto) at the Semperoper Dresden, in Hanover, Bregenz, at the Met, at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and with the Canadian Opera Company; Lord Percy (Anna Bolena) at the Met; Cassio (Otello) in Salzburg; the Prince (Rusalka) in Strasbourg; and Des Grieux (Manon) at the Opéra de Paris. More recent engagements have included Rodolfo (La bohème) at the Metropolitan Opera and in Tokyo, José (Carmen) at the Bavarian State Opera, and the title role in Roberto Devereux in Zurich.

Der Tenor Piero Pretti studierte bei Gianni Mastino und debütierte 2006 als Rodolfo (La bohème). Es folgten Rollen wie Alfredo in La traviata am Teatro Pergolesi in Jesi und am Teatro Comunale in Treviso, die Titelrolle in Donizettis Poliuto in Sassari, Manrico in Il trovatore in Ravenna und Achille in Iphigénie en Aulide in Rom. Dalibor Jenis

Dalibor Jenis is originally from Slovakia and studied voice at the Conservatory in Bratislava. In 1990, he was a triple prizewinner at the Belvedere Singing Competition in Vienna. His repertoire includes the major baritone roles in the operas of Bellini, Rossini, Mozart, and Verdi. He has sung Nabucco at venues including the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Arena di Verona, the Slovak National Opera in Bratislava, and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. He has worked with conductors such as James Conlon, Asher Fisch, Daniele Gatti, Gianandrea Noseda, Renato Palumbo, and Alberto Zedda. George Petean

George Petean was born in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and studied piano, trombone, and voice. He made his stage debut in 1997 at the Cluj-Napoca Opera as Don Giovanni. In 1999, he won the Grand Prize at the international singing competition Hariclea Darclée. In 2000, he made his debut as Marcello (“La bohème”) at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and from 2002 to 2010 he was a member of the Hamburg State Opera ensemble. Since then, he has worked as a freelance artist. Engagements have taken him to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Vienna State Opera, Opéra de Paris, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the New York Met, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Berlin opera houses, Semperoper Dresden, Opera Amsterdam, and the Bregenz Festival. His repertoire includes roles such as Figaro (“Il barbiere di Siviglia”), Silvio (“Pagliacci”), Conte di Luna (“Il trovatore”), Rodrigo, Marquis of Posa (“Don Carlo”), Lord Enrico Ashton (“Lucia di Lammermoor”), Giorgio Germont (“La traviata”), Amonasro (“Aida”), Simon Boccanegra, and Rigoletto. Elena Stikhina

Russian soprano Elena Stikhina is among the leading singers of her generation. She is regularly invited to perform at renowned opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan, the Opéra National de Paris, the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, the Salzburg Festival, and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London. In the 2025/26 season, she will perform, among other roles, the title role in "Tosca" at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, at the Vienna State Opera, and at the Paris Opéra. In addition, she will appear in the title role of Tchaikovsky’s "The Maid of Orleans" in Amsterdam, as Salome at the Lyric Opera in Chicago, as Cio-Cio-San ("Madama Butterfly") at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Metropolitan Opera in New York, as Senta ("The Flying Dutchman") and Elisabetta ("Don Carlo") at the Vienna State Opera, and as Amelia ("Un ballo in maschera") at the Zurich Opera House. Elena Stikhina studied at the Moscow Conservatory and the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Singing Centre. After early performances on the Primorsky stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in Vladivostok, she made her debut at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg as Salome, after which she became a member of the ensemble.

Erika Grimaldi

Erika Grimaldi, geboren in Asti, studierte Gesang und Klavier am Konservatorium «Giuseppe Verdi» in Turin. Yulia Matochkina

Yulia Matochkina won the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 2015. She is one of the leading soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg and has established herself as one of Russia’s most impressive mezzo-sopranos. At the Mariinsky Theatre, she has appeared in roles such as Amneris (Aida), Eboli (Don Carlo), Principessa di Bouillon (Adriana Lecouvreur), Didon (Les Troyens), Dalila (Samson et Dalila), Venus (Tannhäuser), and Kundry (Parsifal). In 2019, she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in the role of Federica in a concert performance of Verdi’s Luisa Miller. Past engagements have also included Roméo et Juliette at the Berlioz Festival in La Côte-Saint-André, as well as Carmen and Polina (The Queen of Spades) at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. She performed Marguerite (La Damnation de Faust) at the Berlioz Festival, Venus (Tannhäuser) in Los Angeles, Carmen at the Bolshoi Theatre, Eboli (Don Carlo) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Maddalena (Rigoletto) at the Met in New York, Marfa (Khovanshchina) at the Opéra de Paris, Ulrica (Un ballo in maschera) at La Scala in Milan, and Ortrud (Lohengrin) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Agnieszka Rehlis

Agnieszka Rehlis stammt aus Polen. Sie studierte Gesang an der Karol-Lipiński-Musikakademie in Breslau. Von 1996 bis 2007 gehörte sie zum Ensemble der Oper Breslau und sang dort u. a. Fenena (Nabucco), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Siébel (Faust), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) und Dorabella (Così fan tutte). 2003 debütierte sie am Teatr Wielki in Warschau als Fenena, später verkörperte sie dort auch Azucena (Il trovatore), den Komponisten in Ariadne auf Naxos, Orsini (Lucrezia Borgia), Adalgisa (Norma) und Lisa in Die Passagierin von Weinberg. 2014 übernahm die Sängerin bei der Neuproduktion von Die Passagierin bei den Bregenzer Festspielen die Partie der Hannah, eine Rolle, die sie in Folge auch am Lincoln Center New York, in Houston und Chicago interpretierte. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit widmet Agnieszka Rehlis dem Schaffen Krzysztof Pendereckis, unter dessen Leitung sie in vielen seiner Kompositionen mitwirkte, so etwa im Te Deum, Credo, Polnischen Requiem sowie in seiner Siebten und Achten Sinfonie. In jüngster Zeit sang sie Amneris (Aida) u. a. in London, Warschau, Dresden, Neapel, Frankfurt und in der Arena di Verona, Brangäne (Tristan und Isolde) in Sevilla und La Cieca (La Gioconda) bei den Opernfestspielen Salzburg. Am Opernhaus Zürich war sie u. a. als Azucena (Il trovatore) und in Verdis Messa da Requiem zu erleben. In der Spielzeit 2024/25 wird sie u. a. Azucena am Royal Opera House London und an der Staatsoper Berlin sowie Amneris in Florenz und Verona singen. In Florenz singt sie 2025 in Verdis Requiem unter Leitung von Zubin Mehta.

Rebeca Olvera

Rebeca Olvera is from Mexico. She studied at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Mexico City and was a member of the IOS at the Opernhaus Zürich from 2005 to 2007. She then became a permanent ensemble member there and sang roles such as Adina ("L’elisir d’amore"), Norina ("Don Pasquale"), Berenice ("L’occasione fa il ladro"), Giulia ("La scala di seta"), Rosina (Paisiello’s "Il barbiere di Siviglia"), Blonde ("Die Entführung aus dem Serail"), Madame Herz ("Der Schauspieldirektor"), Dorinda ("Orlando"), Isolier ("Le comte Ory"), Adalgisa ("Norma"), and Zaida ("Il turco in Italia"). She has worked with conductors including Ralf Weikert, Vladimir Fedoseyev, William Christie, Marc Minkowski, Nello Santi, Adam Fischer, Fabio Luisi, Diego Fasolis, Franz Welser-Möst, Emmanuelle Haïm, and Alessandro De Marchi. She has performed concerts with José Carreras in South America and Europe (Carreras Gala 2007 on ARD) and with Plácido Domingo in Mexico. In 2016, she sang Adalgisa in "Norma" alongside Cecilia Bartoli at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Edinburgh Festival, and the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. In Zurich, she has appeared as Despina, Musetta, Frasquita in "Carmen", Mi in "Das Land des Lächelns", Zaida in "Il turco in Italia", Komtesse Stasi in "Die Csárdásfürstin", Waldvöglein in "Siegfried", and Contessa di Folleville in "Il viaggio a Reims"—a role she also sang at the Royal Danish Opera. She performed Isolier at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo and Clorinda ("La Cenerentola") at the Vienna State Opera. She has also appeared as Berta ("Il barbiere di Siviglia") and in the gala concert Carmencita & Friends at the Salzburg Festival.

Katharina Konradi

Katharina Konradi stammt aus Kirgistan. Ihre musikalische Ausbildung erhielt sie in Berlin und München. Nachdem sie zu Beginn ihrer Karriere drei Jahre am Hessischen Staatstheater in Wiesbaden unter Vertrag gestanden hatte, gab sie 2018 ihr Debut als Ännchen (Der Freischütz) an der Hamburgischen Staatsoper und ist dem Haus seit dieser Zeit als festes Ensemblemitglied verbunden. In jüngster Zeit war sie als Woglinde (Das Rheingold) am Royal Opera House London, als Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) an der Wiener Staatsoper, als Adele (Die Fledermaus) an der Bayerischen Staatsoper, sowie als Servilia (La clemenza di Tito) und als Adina (L’elisir d’amore) an der Hamburgischen Staatsoper zu erleben. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt ihrer Tätigkeit liegt auf diversen Konzertprojekten, die sie unter Dirigenten wie Thomas Hengelbrock, Daniel Harding, Manfred Honeck, Paavo Järvi, Kent Nagano und Gustavo Dudamel gesungen hat. Sie gibt ausserdem regelmässig Liederabende, etwa bei der Schubertíada in Vilabertran, der Schubertiade in Hohenems/Schwarzenberg, der Wigmore Hall in London, dem Palau de la Musica in Barcelona oder beim Festival de Granada. Zuletzt erschienen u.a. ihre Alben Echoes (zusammen mit Catriona Morison), Solitude mit Werken von Hugo Wolf, Robert Schumann u.a. sowie Insomnia mit Liedern von Franz Schubert. Am Opernhaus Zürich war sie zuletzt als Valencienne (Die lustige Witwe) zu erleben. In der Saison 2024/25 ist sie als Adele in München zu erleben, gibt an der Hamburgischen Staatsoper ihr Debüt als Gilda (Rigoletto) und singt in Beethovens 9. Sinfonie mit den Berliner Philharmonikern unter Kirill Petrenko.

Steffan Lloyd Owen

Steffan Lloyd Owen, baritone, is from Wales and studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. He has received numerous singing awards in the United Kingdom, including the W. Towyn Roberts Scholarship Prize, the Blue Riband Osborne Roberts Memorial Prize at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, and the Kathleen Ferrier Bursary Prize. In 2025, he won the Josep Palet Singing Competition and was selected as a finalist in the Paris Opera Competition. He has sung Sciarrone and the Jailer in a semi-staged production of "Tosca" alongside Sir Bryn Terfel and Kristine Opolais at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, Escamillo ("La tragédie de Carmen") at the Buxton International Festival, the Doctor in Verdi’s "Macbeth" at Mid Wales Opera, as well as the title role in Hans Krása’s children’s opera "Brundibár" and Guglielmo ("Così fan tutte") at Welsh National Opera. Concert highlights include Mozart’s "Requiem" with the Orchestre National de Bretagne in Rennes, as well as Beethoven’s Mass in C major and "Choral Fantasy" with the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales and the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera. Since the 2024/25 season, he has been a member of the International Opera Studio at the Zurich Opera House, where he has already sung roles such as the Usher ("Rigoletto"), Silvano ("Un ballo in maschera"), Hermann ("Les Contes d’Hoffmann"), and Sciarrone ("Tosca").

Brent Michael Smith

Brent Michael Smith is from the USA. He studied voice at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia and at the University of Northern Iowa, as well as piano at Hope College in Michigan. He was a finalist in the Queen Sonja International Music Competition (2021) and a semifinalist in the Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions (2020), and he has won prizes in various international singing competitions. Additionally, he received scholarships from the Loren L. Zachary Society and the Young Patronesses of the Opera Competition in Miami. In the United States, he sang roles including Zuniga ("Carmen"), Friedrich Bhaer (Mark Adamo’s "Little Women"), and Ashby ("La fanciulla del West") at Michigan Opera, Antonio ("Le nozze di Figaro") at Toledo Opera, Ariodante ("Xerxes") at the Glimmerglass Festival, the Lackey ("Ariadne auf Naxos") at Santa Fe Opera, as well as Celio (Prokofiev’s "The Love for Three Oranges") and Peter Quince ("A Midsummer Night’s Dream") at Opera Philadelphia. In 2020/21, he was a member of the International Opera Studio at the Zurich Opera House and was subsequently admitted to the ensemble the following season. At the Zurich Opera House, he has since appeared as Sparafucile ("Rigoletto"), Raimondo ("Lucia di Lammermoor"), Prince Gremin ("Eugene Onegin"), Friar Laurence ("Roméo et Juliette"), Fafner ("Das Rheingold"), Cesare Angelotti ("Tosca"), and in "Cardillac."

Stanislav Vorobyov comes from Russia and studied at the Moscow Conservatory. He was a member of the International Opera Studio and has been an ensemble member at the Zurich Opera House since the 2018/19 season. Martin Zysset

Martin Zysset was born and raised in Solothurn. He trained in clarinet while simultaneously pursuing vocal studies, which he complemented with masterclasses with Ernst Haefliger and Edith Mathis. In 1990/91, he was a member of the International Opera Studio at the Zurich Opera House and at the same time a scholarship recipient from the Migros Cooperative Union as well as a prizewinner in the Pro Arte Lyrica Competition in Lausanne. Since 1992, he has been a regular guest at the Summer Festival in Selzach. He has been permanently engaged at the Zurich Opera House since 1991. Here, he has developed a broad repertoire of both buffo and dramatic roles, including Pedrillo, Monostatos, Spoletta, Incredibile ("Andrea Chénier"), Jaquino, Kudryash ("Káťa Kabanová"), Alfred ("Die Fledermaus"), Tamino, Tybalt, Dancaïro, Arturo, Knusperhexe, Brighella, as well as the male lead in Udo Zimmermann’s "Weiße Rose." He performed Simplicius in the operetta of the same name by Johann Strauss, which was also released on CD and DVD. Guest appearances have taken him across Europe, to Shanghai, and with "The Magic Flute," "Le nozze di Figaro," "Fidelio," and "Tannhäuser" to San Diego. For the Bayerischer Rundfunk, he recorded the Lehár operetta "Paganini." In Zurich, he has most recently sung roles including Don Basilio ("Le nozze di Figaro"), Tschekalinski ("Pique Dame"), Triquet ("Eugene Onegin"), the Chief Eunuch ("The Land of Smiles"), Goro ("Madama Butterfly"), Spoletta ("Tosca"), Dormont ("La scala di seta"), the White Minister ("Le Grand Macabre"), the Devil/Narrator ("The Soldier’s Tale"), the Third Jew ("Salome"), Schmidt ("Werther"), Feri ("Die Csárdásfürstin"), and Don Curzio ("Le nozze di Figaro").

Chor der Oper Zürich

Der Chor der Oper Zürich bildet mit seinen 60 festangestellten Mitgliedern und der Mitwirkung von bis zu 160 Vorstellungen pro Saison einen wesentlichen Eckpfeiler des künstlerischen Ensembles am Opernhaus Zürich. Er vereinigt unter dem Dach des traditionsreichsten schweizerischen Opernhauses Sängerinnen und Sänger auf höchstem professionellen Niveau, deren musikalische und stilistische Versiertheit sich mit darstellerischer Gestaltungskraft und spontaner Spielfreude verbinden. Regelmässig stellen seine Mitglieder auch als Solisten ihr künstlerisches Format unter Beweis. Der Chor spiegelt in seiner internationalen Zusammensetzung den Anspruch und die Strahlkraft der Oper Zürich wieder, die sich durch zahlreiche DVD-Aufnahmen erwiesen haben und 2104 mit dem Preis der «Opera Company of the Year» ausgezeichnet wurden. Wichtige musikalische Impulse erhielten die Chormitglieder durch die Arbeit mit Dirigenten wie Nello Santi, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Franz Welser-Möst, Bernard Haitink, Riccardo Chailly, Valery Gergiev, Daniele Gatti, Zubin Mehta und Fabio Luisi. Ihre schauspielerischen Fähigkeiten entwickelten sie im Dialog mit Regisseuren wie David Pountney, Robert Wilson, Harry Kupfer, Peter Stein, Peter Konwitschny oder Andreas Homoki. Gastspiele führten den Chor nach Tokio (Der Rosenkavalier und La traviata), London (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Tannhäuser, Der fliegende Holländer), Paris (La cenerentola, Fierrabras), Athen (Carmen, Idomeneo) oder nach Rom, wo er anässlich einer Papstmesse zur Feier des 500-jährigen Bestehens der Schweizer Garde Mozarts Krönungsmesse aufführte. Als «International Chamber Vocalists» wirkte der Chor der Oper Zürich in der 2014 mit einem Echo-Preis ausgezeichneten Neueinspielung von Vincenzo Bellinis Norma mit.
